Közeleg a karácsony. Matthias külföldről tér vissza a havasok között fekvő erdélyi szülőfalujába. A férfi aggódik fia, Rudi miatt, és minden vágya, hogy viszontláthassa egykori szerelmét, Csillát. A faluban valami megfoghatatlan nyugtalanság és irracionális rettegés honol, és amikor Csilla pékségébe felvesznek két külföldi alkalmazottat, felszínre törnek a korábban rejtett indulatok.
Az R.M.N többnyelvű alkotás: románul, magyarul, németül, angolul és franciául is beszélnek benne, szereplői között pedig a Marosvásárhelyi Nemzeti Színház Tompa Miklós Társulatának magyar színészei is megjelennek.
