Budapest Ritmo, one of Central Europe’s most important world music festivals, will once again bring the scene’s best performers to the heart of the Hungarian capital in 2024. On 11 April, the first, free showcase day of the festival, seven up-and-coming world music ensembles from the region will have the opportunity to perform at Szimpla Kert, on 12 and 13 April some of the greatest performers of the genre will rendezvous on the stages of Akvárium Klub.
But not only concerts take place, Ritmo also provides an opportunity to build relationships and sharing ideas: this year, professionals are welcome for an international music industry conference. In the framework of the two-day English-language discussion series, international experts, innovators and practitioners will discuss the hottest world music topics. The programme of Budapest Ritmo will be complemented by a screening of music-themed documentaries in Toldi Cinema.
Budapest Ritmo is jointly presented by Müpa Budapest and Hangvető in the framework of the Bartók Spring.
