The next stop of our Live Dance Archive series, marked by the name of Zoltán Zsuráfszky, will be presented under the title Viharsarok, this time directed by Gergő Sánta, dance leader of the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble.

The aim of FrenÁk’s Nostalg_Y is not to reminisce about a specific age group or to make the audience cry, but to engage the audience in an intellectual and emotional game of association, where no one knows exactly who will become what, but where imagination can help everyone create a story that fits their expectations. Through randomly colliding, interconnected fragments, we gain insight into what human relations are hidden in the interactions between different generations: for example, between two young individuals who carry their older selves within them and two older characters who carry the consequences of the decisions made by their younger selves.

A LÉTEZÉS egy tangó táncszínházi alkotás, amely az emberi élet útját járja be – a fiatalság sodró lendületétől az öregkor csendes belátásáig. A tangóban születik meg ez az utazás, az ölelés intimitásában, a lélek és a test mély kapcsolódásán keresztül.

What we present is not the story of Kahlo’s life but an independent visual theatre vision inspired by her art and career about a dramatic but also colourful and lively world.

This production of the FrenÁk Company features adynamic team, the members of a new generation. The young, creative dancers draw on the energies of their colourful cultural and linguistic differences as they bring a new creative approach to FrenÁk’s concept. It is a fusion of the arts, a multimedia work with two contrasting yet complementary parts that reflect on the contradictions of our times.

In Lutte of Birds, a sense of the soaring of birds seeps through the original concept of Lutte, creating a new and exciting dynamic fusion between the themes of struggle and freedom familiar from Frenak. “We keep others on a leash and pet them as long as they serve us, but the moment they want to move around even a little bit, the moment they want to go, we pull them back,” Frenák describes the violent, power-seeking attitude that appears in Lutte and that has haunted our world for centuries.

Kizökkent az idő…, ahogy Shakespeare-nél szokott. De, míg Hamlet azzal a bizonyossággal lép a színpadra, hogy általa még helyretolható – Lear az első pillanatban elveszti a csatát. Nem fokozatosan fog széthullani; az egykori nagy király és magabiztos férfi egyetlen pillanat alatt semmisül meg, amikor imádott felesége sírba száll. Darabbéli útja innen csak tántorgás a végső nyughely felé. Hangulat ingadozásai, átkai, dührohamai, de még kétségbeesett kapaszkodási kísérlete is lányaiba – mind a pótolhatatlan űrrel magyarázhatók. Képtelen tovább a kormányzásra; így válik a birodalom felosztása kényszerűvé. Nincs előre eltervezettség és racionális döntés, csak kapkodó improvizálás.

Az Új-Angliai Boston lakossága izgalmas napra ébred: a városi tömlöc kapuján a házasságtörő Hester Prynne lép ki újszülött csecsemőjét magához szorítva. Útja a főtéren álló pellengérhez vezet, ahol a gyalázkodó tömeg azt várja, hogy feltűzzék ruhájára a skarlátvörös A betűt. A szégyen jelét, élete végig, egyedül viseli, hiszen társát a bűnben nem nevezi meg. Már csak azért sem, mert az a közösség nagy tiszteletben álló fiatal lelkésze: Arthur Dimmes…

What do people really want? The answer is difficult, since we are constantly searching for a way out of a perfect world, the way back to Eden after our exile. The Eve & Adam performance addresses this universal question through the language of movement and the artistic representation of two young choreographers.

Bits and Pieces is a collection of short dance works - solos, duos, trios - created by the American Joe Alegado with contributions from the guest dancers themselves. All creations are being constructed with the intention of bringing focus to the relationship between the creative output of the last 52 years, to the primary tools used as inspiration throughout that period of time - the hand gesture.

A betyárok a magyar néphagyomány jellegzetes alakjai. Népdalok, népmondák, balladák őrzik híres betyárjaink emlékét, de tárgyi népművészetünknek is kedvelt témái a betyárábrázolások. Alakjuk a népi emlékezetben gyakran idealizált hősként maradt fenn.
